Former WWE star Melissa Coates known as ‘Super Genie’ dies aged 50, wrestling world in shock

Former WWE and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) star Melissa Coates gave up the ghost on Midsummer Eve due to a still unknown reason. Also referred to as ‘Super Genie’ within the ring, the previous bodybuilder, actress, and wrestler died aged 50. One of Coates’s friends informed everyone through a Facebook post saying that Coates gave up the ghost on Wednesday afternoon and therefore the family has requested privacy at this moment.

“This could also be the toughest post I even have ever made… “Just got word from Terry ‘Sabu’ Brunk that Super Genie Melissa Coates has given up the ghost this afternoon. “I even have spoken to her brother, JR Coates, and niece, Cassi. They told me to post this sad news… “Sabu won’t be taking calls and please respect their privacy at this point. Please keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers,” Coates, best known for working as an on-screen manager for ECW icon Sabu in IMPACT Wrestling among other promotions, made her debut in wrestling within the year 2002. Melissa worked as a bodybuilder and a fitness model for a quick period before that.

Three years later she joined WWE in 2005 as a part of the Ohio Valley Wrestling developmental region. Coates began her relationship with Sabu in 2014 after which she appeared as Super Genie in IMPACT Wrestling and since then she is understood by that name within the ring. Coates, unfortunately, had to urge her left leg amputated thanks to life-threatening injuries in 2020. Though, the rationale of her death remains unknown the wrestling world and her former colleagues were in a state of shock after the tragic news of her sudden demise.
