Heidi Klum has another proud mom moment. Continuing to follow in her mother’s footsteps, Leni Klum, 17, strutted down the runway for Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda show Sunday in Venice, wearing an azure satin ensemble topped with a sequined crown. Heidi Klum recorded her daughter’s latest feat on Instagram, capturing the adorable moment the 17-year-old flashed her mom a smile as she walked by.
“The smile when she sees mom Leni Klum,” Klum wrote alongside a video of Leni walking down the runway past her seat. Later that day, the 48-year-old supermodel and “America’s Got Talent” judge shared another photo of herself sitting within the front row. “Thank you for capturing this moment,” she wrote, tagging actress Sara Foster. Although the teenager model said she received modeling offers as early as age 12, she got her official start last year, last landing her first solo magazine cover on Glamour Germany in April — 20 years after her mom graced the publication’s inaugural issue in 2001.
The cover features Leni Klum striking a pose during a floral-print dress complete with whimsical sleeves. “Thank you to everyone who made my first solo cover so special,” the younger Klumwrote on Instagram at the time. “It’s an honor to share this with my mama @heidiklum who was Glamour Germany’s first-ever cover model.” Leni Klum made her modeling debut in December, asking for the January/February 2021 issue of Vogue Germany alongside her mom.
The cover photo sees the veteran model planting a smooch on her teen daughter’s cheek. In another photo, the mother rests her head on her daughter’s shoulder. “Sixteen may be a good age” to start out modeling, Heidi Klum told the magazine. “If you’re allowed to drive a car, you’ll even have a politician Instagram account and show your face. And to be allowed to start out with a Vogue cover is an insane privilege.”
