Ripon police ask residents to stay inside after severe thunderstorms knock down trees, cause power outages

Police are asking residents to remain inside Thursday morning after severe thunderstorms hit the town overnight. The storms rolled in around midnight and knocked down numerous trees and cut out power city-wide, affecting 9,000 people, consistent with Ripon police.

Police officials said city crews are clearing roads and removing debris, but many roads are still closed. Police officials said no deaths or injuries are reported. the town will provide an update on the storm damage for media 7:30 a.m. at Douglas and East Fond du Lac streets, consistent with Fond du Lac County Emergency Management.
