Severe Thunderstorm Watch expired, threat of severe weather diminished

After thunderstorms caused wind damage in parts of eastern Iowa, the threat for extra severe weather has diminished, consistent with forecasters. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch, which was in effect until 7:00 p.m., was allowed to expire. Additional scattered thunderstorms are possible south of U.S. Highway 20 through the night, but the threat for widespread severe weather has lessened across the world.
