The team at Marvel always features a job at ensuring their secrets from the set are kept that way until the movie is prepared to return out. Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man, is notoriously bad at keeping secrets and is usually probed for spoilers. However, a recent leak of the upcoming trailer for Spider-Man: No Way house is currently the spoiler focus for fans, with some plot details revealed.
The return of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, though already revealed, was seen once more within the flesh, while more of Doctor Strange’s (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) role was revealed. Who didn’t appear, however, were Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, who fans are convinced will show up within the new movie. The leaked trailer didn’t show any of Garfield and Maguire, though this is often one among the most theories around the upcoming movie.
The reason this is often making such a splash with fans is due to the multiverse idea. Molina’s return confirms Spider-Man: No Way house is delving into the multiverse, with Spider-Man arising against villains from other versions of the franchise. Doctor Octopus was the nemesis of Maguire’s Spider-Man in Spider-Man 2, while another confirmed cast member, Jamie Foxx, who played the villain Elektro within the Amazing Spider-Man 2, is arising against Garfield’s Spider-Man.
Given the villains are returning, it is sensible the heroes may additionally return, but the leak suggested no such thing. Marvel has not confirmed this rumor at any point, and that they even allowed Holland bent bat for them, who denied it. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Holland said of their presence within the movie: “It would be amazing if they were because they haven’t told me that yet and that I am Spider-Man and I have read the script from the start to the top. So it might be a miracle if they might keep that from me.”
Holland’s notoriety about spoilers came when he inadvertently revealed the name of the second movie before it had been officially announced, resulting in much derision from his co-stars. For the reveal of Spider-Man: No Way Home, this was even featured within the announcement video, where his co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon jibed at him for his spoilers. within the clip, he asked for the name but was refused, and that they mocked him for not being allowed to understand the new title. Then, the group walked past a whiteboard with the title and various other sketches revealed.
