Despite a disappointing season for the Boston Celtics in 2020-21, All-Star Jayson Tatum was surely the brilliant spot, proving himself together of the simplest young players within the entire league. In his fourth season in Boston, Tatum averaged career-highs across the board with 26.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. The Duke Blue Devil made his second All-Star appearance and just missed All-NBA honors.
Tatum had several memorable games this season, including three 50+ points performances (four if you count the play-in tournament). Two of these performances came within the regular season, including a career-high 60 points on April 30 against the San Antonio Spurs, which tied Larry Bird’s franchise record. In-Game 3 of the primary round series against the Brooklyn Nets, Tatum dropped 50 points, dragging the Celtics to their only win of the series. This summer, Tatum will look to feature to his resume by playing for Team USA within the Tokyo Olympics in an attempt to earn his first trophy .
